After months of hype, Oneplus finally revealed their much-awaited and overhyped series called the “Nord”. OnePlus Nord was unveiled at a world’s first AR launch event which anybody could have witnessed at the comfort of their homes by buying the invite from Amazon. Oneplus launched its first mid-ranger, Oneplus X some 5 years from now and now it’s back again with a premium mid-ranger device that includes a 90Hz AMOLED display, 5G-enabled Snapdragon 765G chipset, dual-selfie camera, 30W fast-charging support at a really attractive and affordable price. Let’s have an in-depth look at all of its features. It’s a pretty interesting phone. So Would you consider buying Oneplus Nord?
Display and Design: A perfect budget Beauty
We know the design looks very much similar to that of Realme X3 but trust us, the phone feels much sturdy and well built with its glass sandwich design that also has Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and back. The only difference between the Nord and X3 is that X3 has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and Nord has an In-display fingerprint scanner thanks to its 6.44-inch FHD+ Fluid AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. The panel boasts a 20:9 aspect ratio, 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution, sRGB support. Rest all looks very much similar because of the dual punch-hole selfie cameras and vertically stacked quad rear cameras.
Processor, Ram & Storage: Everything yo can ask?
Oneplus had long ago confirmed that it’s much affordable Nord will come with Snapdragon 765G which is a 5G enabled 7nm Octa-core processor clocked at 2.4Ghz and can offer download speeds up to 3.38Gbps on a 5G network. The chipset is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x Ram and up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. This is a dual sim device with no option for the expansion of memory.
Operating System: You should consider this
One of the main USPs of such huge growth of Oneplus and such a large fan base is its software which is the best UI after the stock android. Oxygen OS has already gained much popularity for its ad-free and bloat-free user interface. And so the Nord comes with Oxygen OS 10.5 based on top of Android 10. One major though was the OnePlus’ decision to ditch its own phone and messages app in favor of Google’s phone and messages app. The company’s claims, it will be eligible for two years of software updates (up to Android 12) and three years of security updates.
How are those Oneplus Nord Cameras?
Oneplus has never compromised on cameras and the same goes for Nord. The Nord comes with a 48MP (f/1.75) Sony IMX 586 sensor that is also present on board the flagship Oneplus 8. It is paired with an 8MP wide-angle camera with 119-degree FOV, 5MP depth sensor, and a 2MP Macro camera. As per the video front, it can record videos up to 4K @ 30FPS, Super Slow-motion videos at up to 1080p @ 240FPS, and also has OIS and EIS for that next vlog of yours. Pro mode and RAW image capture are some extra additions to the camera.
Front cameras include a 32MP Sony IMX 616 sensor and a secondary 8MP ultra-wide sensor with 105-degree FOV which is exactly the same as Relame X3 Superzoom.
Battery and Charging: Remember the Warp Charging?
OnePlus Nord comes equipped with a 4,115mAh battery bag which is slightly smaller than the battery aboard the OnePlus 8 but thanks to Oneplus that the 30W charging speed remains the same though. Oneplus claims that you can charge the phone from 0% to 70% in around 30 minutes.
Extra features: The perks
Some of the extra features that the Nord comes with are NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, and NavIC. It does not come with wireless charging, 3.5mm headphone jack, and an IP rating though Carl Pei mentioned in an interview that it comes with rubber gaskets around ports and other precautions in place to help it survive in 30-meter water for 30 seconds.

Our Opinions: Would you consider buying Oneplus Nord?
Would You Consider Buying Oneplus Nord? According to us, there are other alternatives to the Nord with Snapdragon 855 plus on the Realme X3 and X3 Superzoom but you don’t get that speed and reliability as well as a good bloat-free and near to stock android experience just like you will get it on the Oxygen OS on the Oneplus Nord. Plus you always get a 90Hz AMOLED in comparison to 120Hz IPS LCD to which we will definitely pick the 90Hz AMOLED. Overall we can say at a starting price of ₹24,999, the Oneplus Nord is a bang for the buck.
