Tariff Hike: New Prepaid plans by Jio, Vodafone-Idea & Airtel increased by over 40%, check the complete tariff list
It’s December 1 and as promised by telco providers the tariff rates have increased by over 40%. Previously Reliance Jio, Vodafone-Idea & Bharti Airtel have unanimously decided to increase the tariff rates on December 1 to tackle losses borne by the telco operators. While Jio has not announced the tariff rates, Vodafone Idea launched the revised tariff rates first followed by Bharti Airtel.
Vodafone-Idea’s New Prepaid Plans Effective December 3: Up to 42% Increase In Voice, Data Rates
Keeping the promise Vodafone-Idea has today announced increase in tariff rates by upto 42% which will be applicable effectively on December 3 00:00 hours. Now users of Vodafone-Idea have to pay 42% more for data & calling. This price hike has been done across all the plans, both short-term and long pre-paid plans. The minimum unlimited pack, which offered 1.5GB per day data for 28 days, will now cost Rs 249, which was earlier priced at Rs 199, while, the starting combo plan with 1.5 GB daily data for 84 days will now cost Rs 599, which earlier was priced at Rs 458. The plan which witnessed the maximum hike is the annual prepaid plan which used to cost Rs 1699 and has been now increased to Rs 2399, for 365 days. Below is the complete list.
*Do note that calls made from Vodafone to Vodafone, Vodafone to Idea, Idea to Vodafone & Idea to Idea are considered as on-net. Calling to other networks are considered as off-net. Off-net calls after the free usage in the plan would be charged at 6p/min.
Airtel’s New Prepaid Plans Announced: Pay Up to 42% More From December 3
Soon after the announcement by Vodafone-Idea, Bharti Airtel announced increase in tariff rates by upto 42% which will also be applicable on December 3. Now users of Airtel have to shed upto 42% more from their pockets for data and calling. Like Vodafone-Idea, the price hike has been done across all short-term & long-term plans. Airtel claims that the new tariff increases in the “range of a mere 50 paise/day to Rs. 2.85/day”, offering even better services. The minimum unlimited pack, which offered 1.5GB per day data for 28 days, will now cost Rs 248, which was earlier priced at Rs 199, while, the starting combo plan with 1.5 GB daily data for 84 days will now cost Rs 598, which earlier was priced at Rs 448 for 82 days. The plan which witnessed the maximum hike is the annual prepaid plan which used to cost Rs 1699 and has been now increased to Rs 2398, for 365 days. Below is the complete list.
*Do note that Airtel has also announced FUP will be applied to all unlimited calls from Airtel to other networks and after the FUP limit the calls will be charged at 6p/min but Airtel has not announced the FUP limit for plans as of now. Jio All-in-One Plans to Cost More But With Increased Benefits
The Mukesh Ambani led telecom operator issued a press release today in which it has announced some details about the tariff hike which will come to affect in the upcoming days. In the press release, Reliance Jio announced that the NEW ALL IN ONE plan will be priced 40% higher which will be combined with 300% more benefits which we think that Jio will offer more data per day as it did earlier with the ALL IN ONE plan. Reliance Jio also announced that these plans will be applicable from 6th of December, 2019. Let’s see what revised plans come from Jio in the upcoming days.
